Inspection Certificates in Tasmania

In Tasmania many people refer to the compulsory vehicle inspections as a "Rego Check" because they are required, under certain circumstances, before registration of that vehicle can occur.

Vehicles must be inspected and a certificate presented if:

• If the vehicle has been unregistered longer than three months
• If it's a new vehicle that has not been registered via the dealer rego scheme
• Vehicles being transferred from interstate
