Frequently Asked Questions about Log Book servicing

To help you understand Log Book servicing and learn more about Jackmans Garage in Moonah, please read the questions and answers below:

What is a Log Book Service?

The Manufacturer of your vehicle produced a handbook which included a description of services required at specific kilometers. For example, what inspections are to be made, what fluids are to be changed and what filters are needed.

Why do I need a log book service?

Log book services are needed because the Manufacturer has designed and built your vehicle to approved standards that meet safety and optimum performance, including longevity. These can only be guaranteed when the Log Book instructions are followed at correct intervals.

What happens if I miss a Service?

It all depends ...... if it is within the warranty period, it could void your warranty.

If it is a service which includes replacement of the timing belt, and it breaks, it could cost you an engine re-build.

At other times, you are risking your safety, the vehicle's reliability and performance and its resale value.

Do you have Loan cars and how much do they cost?

Yes, Jackmans Garage have loan cars and they are free.

Will I lose my New Car Warranty if I don't go back to the dealer?

No. Your chosen Repairer must be technically qualified and use only spare parts and materials of a quality equal to that recommended by the Manufacturer.

Manufacturers are not allowed to force you to take the vehicle back to them for servicing although they imply it keeps your vehicle warranty intact. Having your vehicle serviced by an independent workshop like Jackmans Garage not only saves you money, but the whole process is more convenient without affecting your new car warranty at all. We have more information on this for you in our article. Please click here.
